Night Sky

031/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Our happy place at night. Taken at a relatively high ISO (400) because I used a 30 second exposure. Could have used lower ISO and BULB setting but frankly it was freezing, my hands were shaking and I don't have a remote release. It would have been shakier than a shaky thing with the shakes.

Presents

030/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Jelly Beans!

029/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Yes.

Reflected Clouds

028/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Clouds reflected in the HSBC building

Keyboard

027/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Obligatory keyboard shot, because everyone should have one.

Gingerbread

026/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . A gingerbread person made by Larissa.

Space Invader

025/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Made using the cunning technique of pre-focussing the lens, setting up the flash, and then throwing a foam rubber space invader in the air. Genius, I tell you.

Pizza

024/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Mmm

Singstar

023/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Like socially acceptable karaoke!

Dessert

022/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Busker

021/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . A busker on Fargate looking distinctly nonplussed about the weather. I've decided that there aren't enough people in my pictures and will endeavour to do something about that.

Pencils

Pencils , originally uploaded by craigand . An honourable mention. I already chose a pic of the day for the day I shot this, but it's really cool so I'm sharing it anyway.

City Lights

020/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . A view over Sheffield from near the top of City Road, over the back yards and allotments. Very noisy due to having to crank the ISO because it was hand-held, and not as sharp as I'd like but that comes with the territory I suppose.

Under Wraps

019/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . A lonesome covered car in an otherwise empty forecourt. There is some writing on it, so I assume it's a company car. Bit odd but I liked it.

Water Ball

018/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . One of the famous orbs on the Peace Gardens in Sheffield. Sharpened slightly to give the water a liquid metal appearance.

Rails

016/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Railway lines running under Pitsmoor and Burngreave. I like the cramped buildings at the end of the line. Very industrial.

Ruins

017/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . The remains of a crumbling factory at Shalesmoor. It's fenced off for some reason, and looks pretty cool just sat there amongst the urban development.

Amulet

015-365 , originally uploaded by craigand . My free amulet that came with Návaz, the new album from Silent Stream Of Godless Elegy.

Stig

014-365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Feelin' Blue

013/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Beer Garden

012/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . This one is quite cool, but also pretty terrible. The concept is there, the framing is alright, the colours are nice ... but, oh my, the camera shake!

Time-bot

011/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . My first "cheat" of the year. Too tired and busy to take any pics, so using this one from the 10th.

Meccano

010/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Fridge

009/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . Feeling a little uninspired today. Possibly just tired. Hoping to get out of the house a bit this week so possibly find things to shoot out and about.

Clock Watching

008/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Sylvanian

007/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Swirl

006/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Measure Up

005/365 , originally uploaded by craigand .

Hand in Hand

004/365 , originally uploaded by craigand . A couple in Sheffield town centre.

Cheese

New Year Dinner

New Year Dinner , originally uploaded by craigand . For an early new year's pressie I picked up a giant cupcake mould for Emma to play with. The awesomecake in question was the first attempt. It wasn't 100% successful, but was still amazing. Once all the edges were sliced off (everyone was a little nervous about cutting down the middle) it became a towering monolith of cakey greatness. As demonstrated here.

New Year, New Resolution

Christmas, eh? Madness. This is just a small selection of the sweets, treats and general gluttony that has taken place over the last few days. And it's also the first pic of my 365/2011 project. Hopefully a bit more organised and sane than last year. Last year's almost worked, but it's difficult to work photography around everything else in my busy schedule. There are many reasons I lacked inspiration last year, from being stuck in the same place day in, day out to being too tired to even contemplate art once the day's jobs were done. A big factor, as always, was also not having a camera with me at all times. I've got the kit, the bag and the insurance now. Going to start carrying it with me more often, even if I end up not using it. I'm relaxing my own rules this year. It'll be 7 pictures a week, rather than 1 picture a day. The reason for this is simple; some days I'm inspired and have the time required to get some nice shots, and other days
